V616-MONOCEROTIS —NEAREST BLACKHOLE TO THE EARTH

V616 MONOCEROTIS — THE  NEAREST  BLACK  HOLE  TO  EARTH

MILKY WAY  has millions of black hole. Our galaxy has super massive black hole at it's center  SAGGARITUS A which is too much powerful, but it is too far from earth.Black holes are destroyer. They engulf everything which is full of matter. Then question arises is there any danger to earth from any black hole?

As per observations V616 MONOCEROTIS is the closest known black hole from earth.
It is also known as A0620-00. This system is binary star in MONOCEROUS constellation.
This constellation only contains two objects.

SIZE   = APPROX (LONDON CITY)

DISTANCE FROM EARTH -   3457  light years

MASS OF A0620-00 =   6 TO 9  TIMES OF SUN

The black hole in A0620-00 pulls matter from the K-type star into an accretion disk. The accretion disk emits significant amounts of visible light and X-rays. Because the K-type star has been pulled into an elliptical shape, the amount of surface area visible, and thus the apparent brightness, changes from the Earth's perspective. A0620-00 also bears the variable star designation V616 Monocerotis.

The first object is a K- type main sequence with k5v spectral. The two objects orbit each other every 7.75 hours
The second object cannot be seen, but based on its calculated mass of 6.6 time of sun it is too massive to be neutron star and must therefore stellar black hole.

A0620-00 undergoes x -ray explosion. In 1917,first time it undergo X-ray explosion and second time in 1975. It was detected by satellite Ariel-5.

However, you need not to worry as there are no black holes close enough to Earth that will directly affect us. The closest black hole to the Earth is named ‘V616 Monocerotis’. It is also known as A0620-00. This black hole is 6.6 times more massive than our Sun.If our planet gets within about 800,000 kilometres (3.7 light seconds) of this supermassive black hole it will get pulled apart. But that’s unlikely to happen and certainly not in your lifetime as V616 Monocerotis is about 3,300 light years away and that’s very, very far away.
