HOLMBERG — 15A

THE BIGGEST BLACK HOLE EVER SPOTTED

Millions of black holes live in our galaxy Milky way. Black hol Esta are known for their gravitational pull, having escape velocity greater than speed of light. They are too massive. Scientists are looking for such black holes for further studies. In this process,  they came across a black hole which is nearly 40 billion times massive than sun which is more than black hole found in M87 galaxy which is nearly 16 billion times massive than sun.
HOLMBERG-15A is the biggest black hole ever spotted.

Holmberg 15A is a supergiant elliptical galaxy and the central dominant galaxy of the Abell 85 galaxy cluster in the constellation Cetus, about 700 million light-years from Earth. It was discovered c. 1937 by Erik Holmberg.

The black hole is nearly 700 millions light year away from earth. Researchers state that the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) of the cool-core cluster Abell 85, consists of an ultra-diffuse central region, which is 2 mag fainter than the faintest depleted core of any early-type galaxy (ETG) dynamically modelled.Researchers also collected new photometric data at the Wendelstein observatory which confirms the existence of unusual, near-exponential light profile of the galaxy's core. “We use orbit-based, axisymmetric Schwarzschild models to analyse the stellar kinematics of Holm 15A from new high-resolution, wide-field spectral observations obtained with MUSE at the VLT. We find a supermassive black hole (SMBH) with a mass of (4.0 +- 0.80) x 10^10 solar masses at the center of Holm 15A
