GHOST PARTICLE (NEUTRINOS) 

    A neutrino is a subatomic particle that is very similar to an electron, but has no electrical charge and a very small mass, which might even be zero. Neutrinos are one of the most abundant particles in the universe. Because they have very little interaction with matter, however, they are incredibly difficult to detect.

Neutrinos are termed as ghost particles because the scientists think, it is too  hard to detect  neutrinos as they are Massless and can't react with matter. It can pass through matter like earth, sun.
Even billions of neutrinos still are passing through your palm but you don't know. Then how can we study these type of particles?
As they are Massless or even can't react with ordinary matter, they are considered from one of the family of dark matter. But recently team of scientists successfully measure mass of this ghost particle.

For decades, scientists believed that neutrinos are Massless particles.Till 1978 ,it was a big question for scientists. So it was considered as Massless. But now this experiment shows it has non zero mass. How much mass it has is still unknown, but biggest question is why do they have mass at all.
The unexpected mass of neutrinos represent deviation in law of physics, called as standard model of particle physics. This mass of neutrinos could lead deeper and fuller explanation of how this universe made.simply it will tell about make up of universeIt’s really the first crack in the Standard Model in quite some time,” says Indiana University physicist Mark Messier, “and there’s a lot of interest to try to pull that crack open and see what’s going on there. Neutrinos could be largest ever mystery for scientists. This could tell why we live in world of matter, why not in antimatter as both of them were same at time of Big Bang,but some how matter won. Mass of neutrinos will help in revealing such type of mysteries.


Neutrinos are millions times lighter than its partner in its category "electron"
This shows that their should be another method which provide masses to neutrinos. Neutrinos don't follow HIGGS FIELD THEORY.
All particles acquired their masses by higgs field but it's not true about neutrino.
