DARK MATTER

DARK  MATTER

DARK MATTER  is type of matter which accounts 85%of mass of universe and fourth of its total energy. We cannot detect dark matter till now. Scientists are trying to find evidence which may give rise to new force which will find all answers about beginning of universe.

Most of the dark matter is believed to be non-baryonic, potentially being made out of some up ’til now unfamiliar subatomic particles. The next most significant ingredient- dark matter, which only interacts with the rest of the universe through its gravity. Particle physicists have imagined new kinds of matter, consistent with the known laws of the universe, yet so far none has been identified, or its existence affirmed. The Large Hadron Collider’s revelation of the Higgs boson in 2012 incited a burst of confidence that dark matter would soon be found however so far none has been seen.

Despite of being dominant component  dark matter is responsible for galactic structure and CMBR ( COSMIC microwave background radiation). Some galaxy have found more mass than the matter they contain which give idea of that this matter could be provided by dark matter. They give structure to galaxies.

WIMP ( WEAKLY INTERACTING MASSIVE PARTICLES)

Wimp are hypothetical particles that are thought to constitute dark matter. ... A WIMP must also have been produced thermally in the early Universe, similarly to the particles of the standard model according to Big Bang cosmology, and usually will constitute cold dark matter.
